Camping at Mt. Charleston Nevada
There are several very nice campgrounds at Mt. Charleston right outside of Las Vegas Nevada. If you are ever in the area of Las Vegas there is more to do there then gamble. Campers and Hikers from all over the world come to Mt. Charleston every year to see the beauty of this mountain range. There are plenty of sites there and with the weather never shooting above around 85ยบ even in the heat of the desert. Mt. Charleston is perfect for hiking and camping all year long.
To reserve a spot at Mt. Charleston is very easy. ReserveAmerica.com offers an easy and effective way to reserve any site all year long. A couple of our favorite places up there are McWilliams and Hill Top. Hill Top offers showers and is pretty central to the hiking trails that we frequented while we were there. McWilliams is very roomy with plenty of space for even RVs and there are out houses available.
During the summer months some of the picnic areas are converted into camping sites. With all of the same amenities as the campgrounds they are a little harder to get to if you have a lot of gear but perfect for the hiker that just needs a place to set up camp for a few nights and wants to have access to the fire pits and tables.
